Tottenham expected to change system v Man United after injury latest – expert

Paul Robinson expects Tottenham to start in a 3-5-2 formation at Man United on Wednesday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one believes Antonio Conte will make the change because of the injury status of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

Richarlison was withdrawn 52 minutes into Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Everton with a calf injury.

The Brazil international revealed on Twitter (17 October) that he will be sidelined for approximately two weeks with the problem.

Yves Bissouma replaced Richarlison against the Toffees as Spurs switched from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 for the final half an hour of the game.

Antonio Conte’s side travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday.

When asked by Football Insider who will likely replace the injured Richarlison against the Red Devils, Robinson said: “I think he will go with the three in midfield.

“I really like it when Bissouma comes into that midfield.

“Man United could have [Bruno] Fernandes and [Christian] Eriksen. It would be a good opportunity to get at them in the midfield. They have a lot of forward thinking players.

“[Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg, [Rodrigo] Bentancur and Bissouma would give them solidity in there. I think that will be important going away from home.”
