Tottenham expert 'absolutely delighted' by 'brilliant' Troy Parrott development

Ched Evans’ suspension for Preston North End is ‘brilliant’ news for Tottenham loanee Troy Parrott.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Parrott, 20, joined Preston on loan on 25 July and made his debut for the club on Saturday (30 July), starting in his new side’s 0-0 draw with Wigan Athletic.

Ched Evans replaced Parrott in the 72nd minute but was shown a straight red card eight minutes later.

Wenham claims this can only benefit the Spurs loanee.

“I was absolutely delighted to see Parrott starting straight away for Preston in their first game of the season against Wigan,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They got a creditable 0-0 draw away to Wigan after Preston went down to ten men. What was noticeable for me was that Evans got sent off something like five minutes after coming on.

“Brilliant, so that’s a nice three-game ban and three more games for Troy to start. The more the merrier. I am really pleased he will be out and playing a lot of football.

“That was the main thing with this loan spell after he played a lot at MK Dons last season, he needs game time and it looks like he is going to get it.”

While on loan at MK Dons in the 2021-22 season, Parrott made 46 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals.

The striker was used in a deeper number 10 role, limiting his goalscoring chances.
