Tottenham expert 'annoyed' amid Yves Bissouma latest - 'I still can't believe it'
The World Cup break has come at completely the wrong time for Tottenham star Yves Bissouma.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Bissouma, 26, has only started six of Tottenham’s 15 Premier League games so far this season.
After starting three games in a row against Newcastle, Bournemouth and Liverpool, the former Brighton man returned to the bench against Leeds United on Saturday (12 November).
After finally earning consecutive starts, Wenham fears Bissouma’s development could now stagnate over the next six weeks.
“I think Bissouma has been excellent when he has played over the last few weeks,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I want to give him a shoutout because he has been better than I think a lot of people expected after his first few appearances.
“There is a lot of competition in that midfield now with Skipp back from injury and Hojbjerg and Bentancur playing so well.
“I’m annoyed that the World Cup is here because I think more starts and more game time would be the best thing for Bissouma’s development right now but obviously the entire season now has to stop.
“It’s so frustrating because it’s just another thing to add to the list of things at Spurs that I would rather weren’t happening. I still can’t believe we are having this World Cup now.
“Hopefully with the number of games in the second half of the season Bissouma can play himself into form again.”
Sources told Football Insider on 6 October that tactical reasons were behind Bissouma’s lack of involvement.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur started against Leeds as Bissouma missed out.
