Tottenham expert fumes at ‘bizarre’ Kane criticism after ‘unbelievable’ moment v Liverpool

John Wenham can’t understand why Tottenham star Harry Kane has been criticised for celebrating his goal against Liverpool.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Kane, 28, notched his first Premier League goal in seven games as he opened the scoring in Sunday’s (19 December) draw between Tottenham and Liverpool.

This was only his second league goal of the season.

Kane enjoyed his celebration however his actions drew some heat on social media for supposedly being over the top.

Wenham can’t understand why there was criticism of a striker celebrating a goal.

“The noise when it went in was unbelievable,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“People are so happy for Harry. It was a great finish and a finish past one of the best keepers in the world.

“It was a lovely bit of forward play and you could see the look on his face.

“Hopefully that will be brilliant for his confidence. He actually should have had another goal, he missed an easy header.

“There was some criticism of the way he celebrated, that’s bizarre. It was suggested he went over the top considering that was only his second league goal of the season.

“He just put us into the lead against a very good Liverpool, he can celebrate however he wants as far as I’m concerned.

“Hopefully we can see the best of Kane over the coming weeks and for the rest of the season.”

Tottenham

Kane has scored nine goals in all competitions this season.

Tottenham are next in action against West Ham in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (22 December).

In other news, an Insider has told Football Insider how Tottenham are working on a deal to sign “unbelievable” player in January.
