Tottenham expert: Hugo Lloris has just delivered 'big sign' to fans on his back
Hugo Lloris silenced his doubters with a “brilliant” performance for Tottenham against Marseille on Tuesday (1 November).
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Lloris has come in for criticism in recent weeks after making a series of high-profile mistakes in games against Newcastle United and Sporting Lisbon.
However, the stopper played the full 90 minutes as Spurs made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Wenham insists Lloris has proved he has what it takes to continue as Spurs’ number one.
“I want to mention Lloris. he won the UEFA player of the match award in our win over Marseille,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I just want people to put that into consideration when they are judging and jumping on the bandwagon against him.
“In a must-win, difficult game, in that atmosphere, he was presented with the player of the match award. I want to that be shared far and wide.
“It’s a big sign to those fans who doubted and continue to doubt him. The criticism he has had is fair but let us not forget he is a world-class goalkeeper.
“This man has won more than pretty much everyone else at the club. He was brilliant the other night and well deserving of his award.”
Lloris has made 435 total appearances for Spurs since joining the club in 2012.
Tottenham are next in action against Liverpool on Sunday (6 November).
