Tottenham expert issues ‘£30m’ Sergio Reguilon claim after deal agreed

Sergio Reguilon will leave Tottenham permanently next summer.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Reguilon, 25, joined Atletico Madrid on loan this summer after being frozen out under Antonio Conte.

The deal does not include the option of a permanent deal but Wenham expects the defender to leave next summer after dazzling in Spain.

“It might just be a case of these clubs in Europe not having any money,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“If they go out on loan and do well, Reguilon probably will do well in Spain, he did very well at Sevilla.

“He won the Europa League with them, he is suited to Spanish football. I see they have secured a £5million loan fee and a potential £30million permanent transfer with Ronan Lodi going to Nottingham Forest.

“The money is there, I hope Tottenham mentioned that to them, the money is there for them to do that deal in the future,

“Reguilon will play in the Champions League, he will be in the window. I expect he will be signed permanently by someone next summer, even if it isn’t Atletico.

“I am not too worried about that one to be honest, compared to some of the others.”

Reguilon had been a regular starter at Tottenham during his two seasons at the club following his £27million transfer from Real Madrid.

The six-times Spain international has made 67 appearances in total, which included 22 Premier League starts in 2021-22.
