Tottenham expert lambasts ‘aggressive’ Robertson and reveals why ‘he had it coming’
Paul Tierney was right to send off Andy Robertson and not Harry Kane in Sunday’s clash between Tottenham and Liverpool.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Robertson, 27, saw red in the second half of Sunday’s (19 December) 2-2 draw after wiping out Emerson Royal.

However, in the first half, Kane avoided the same punishment for a lunge on the Liverpool left-back.
The striker’s studs made contact with Robertson’s shin but he was only awarded a yellow card.
Wenham has backed Tierney’s assessment of both incidents and claims Robertson was due a red card after avoiding one in last season’s clash between the sides.
“Andy Robertson was due a red card from when he wiped out Tanganga last season,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s been very vocal about the refereeing decisions but he did exactly the same thing yesterday.
“Robertson is quite an aggressive player, we have seen him do that over the last few years.
“Frankly, he had it coming. You aren’t going to get away with that reckless tackling forever.
“There are questions about Kane’s possible sending off as well. A yellow was given.
“I saw the ref get some stick. On another day it could have been red but for that type of challenge you see both given.
“Is he a bit lucky? Possibly, but for me, the referee made the right decision with both calls.

“I’m not sure why Robertson was complaining, it was a kick out at the player.
“He didn’t give the ref a choice really.”
In other news, an Insider has told Football Insider how Tottenham are working on a deal to sign “unbelievable” player in January.
