Tottenham expert makes ‘big’ Harry Kane claim as Joe Lewis news emerges
Harry Kane will be at the top of Man United’s striker list if Tottenham agree to sell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton believes Kane wants to stay in the Premier League next season.
According to The Mirror (23 July), United are back on red alert for the 30-year-old after Tottenham owner Joe Lewis insisted the striker won’t be allowed to leave for free next year.
Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy that Kane must sign a contract extension or leave for a fee this window.
Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the England international but have already seen two bids for the goalscorer rejected.
When asked if United might enter the race for Kane, Hutton told Football Insider: “Possibly.
“They will have their own targets as well, how high up Kane is in that I do not know but I am pretty sure he will be towards the top end of it.
“I think this is going to rumble on for the length of the window to be quite honest. It seems like the Bayern Munich thing is real and he could possibly fancy it.

“Are Tottenham willing to hold onto him for one more season and lose him for nothing? I think that would be a huge blow to them.
“I think Daniel Levy might be under a little pressure if a value is reached that they see is good enough for him. Joe Lewis has made his feelings clear. I still just feel he would prefer to be in the English Premier League.“
