Tottenham fans react to Dele Alli Twitter message

By Amir Mir

Dele Alli has sent a Twitter message expressing his heartache at the FA Cup semi-final defeat against Chelsea – and fans have told him to keep fighting.

The 21-year-old was on target for his team during the game but it was not enough as his side suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of their rivals.

Antonio Conte’s team were leading the match 2-1 going into the half-time break, but Alli’s brilliant run in the box saw him convert a wonderful low cross from Christian Eriksen to level the scores.

However, substitute Eden Hazard inspired his team to victory as he scored the third goal of the match before Nemanja Matic’s brilliant strike sealed the win.

Alli was understandably down after the encounter, but his supporters urged him to keep his head up and try and help his team win the Premier League title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are four points behind Chelsea in the table, with Crystal Palace their next opponents while the Blues will host Southampton.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

It has been another brilliant individual campaign for Alli, who has scored 20 goals in all competitions for his title-chasing team.

The England international has found the back of the net on 16 occasions in 31 league matches, including netting three goals against Chelsea this term.

There are six matches of the season remaining and Alli, depending on form, has the chance to score 20 league goals.

A trip to Selhurst Park on Wednesday night awaits the attacking midfielder before hosting north London rivals Arsenal next Sunday.
