Tottenham fans call on Twitter for attacker to start v Bayer Leverkusen

By Will Butcher

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to call on manager Mauricio Pochettino to pick Moussa Sissoko against Bayer Leverkusen.

The £30million summer signing has failed to sparkle in North London following his move from Championship outfit Newcastle on deadline day.

But with Sissoko banned from the Premier League after elbowing Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter, the 27-year-old could be given a chance in the Champions League clash.

Former Southampton boss Pochettino will be desperate to see his side pick up three points against their Bundesliga rivals, as they look to leapfrog Group E rivals Monaco and move to within touching distance of the knockout phase in the Champions League.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter throughout Wednesday to express their desire to see Sissoko start against Roger Schmidt’s side.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The former Toulouse midfielder starred at Euro 2016 for France as his country reached the final in front of their own fans before losing 2-0 to Portugal.

However, Sissoko is yet to reach the heights of those performances that had seen him linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid during the summer.

Just four starts under Pochettino has seen Sissoko fail to impress, as he is yet to find the net in a Spurs shirt but that could change on Wednesday night.

In other Tottenham team news, Schmidt has had this to say about Spurs.
