Tottenham fans crushed after ‘devastating’ Micky van de Ven blow – ‘End the season’

Tottenham fans are worried after Micky van de Ven was forced off during their win against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon (10 March).

The Lilywhites breezed passed Unai Emery’s side with an emphatic 4-0 victory thanks to second-half goals from James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Heung-min Son and Timo Werner.

The win represents an enormous boost in the club’s efforts to finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification, but a fresh blow to the centre-back has sparked major fears from the fanbase.

The Dutchman went down off the ball early in the second half at Villa Park and was quickly replaced by January signing Radu Dragusin in the 49th minute.

He has been a standout for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season and has swiftly formed one of the Premier League’s most impressive partnerships alongside Cristian Romero, but a new injury could force him out again.

The 22-year-old missed a nine-game stretch of the campaign with a major hamstring injury but has started the last seven league games since his return.

While supporters were elated with such a huge victory against fellow Champions League chasers, they have taken to social media to react to the “devastating” blow.
