Tottenham fans savage ‘disgraceful’ Timo Werner after what he did v Man United

Tottenham fans have exploded at Timo Werner after his wasteful performance in the win against Man United at Old Trafford.

Ange Postecoglou’s side cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory away from home thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke.

However, Werner was the centre of attention for the travelling supporters, as they could have been even further ahead but for his wasted chances.

The 28-year-old raced through on goal against Andre Onana multiple times throughout the game, but the goalkeeper got the better of his man each time.

Following the match, he was credited with two big chances missed by Sofascore – highlighting his wastefulness.

With a reputation for missing opportunities, Werner’s profligacy came as a surprise to none at Old Trafford, but left the Spurs fans in fits.

It was ultimately an extremely impressive and dominant win for Tottenham away from home at a ground where they have struggled in the past, but Werner’s misses were the difference between an impressive win and a historical one.

Even during his time at Chelsea, the German gathered a reputation for his lack of clinical finishing in front of goal, especially when presented with one-on-one chances.

With Son Heung-min missing the trip to Man United through injury, it was Werner who was selected to fill the space out on the left wing.

However, it is undeniable that Son’s presence would have seen Tottenham put even more goals past their opponents, and fans have taken to social media to express their frustrations.

One went as far as the label him “one of the worst footballers in history”, while he was described as “irredeemable” and “a disgrace”.
