Tottenham fans go wild about England player after Costa Rica win, urge Poch to nab off PL rivals

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek starred for England on Thursday night in an international friendly win over Costa Rica – and Tottenham fans on Twitter have suggested they plot an ambitious bid to sign him this summer.

Gareth Southgate’s team recorded a 2-0 win at Elland Road in their final friendly before they jet out to the World Cup in Russia, with Marcus Rashford and Danny Welbeck on the scoreline.

England and Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek turned in an eye-catching display for the Lions, where he laid on an assist for Rashford’s goal and showed what an imposing figure he can be in the centre of the park.

The 22-year-old has been on the books at Stamford Bridge since a young age, but has never really been able to full break into the first team for the Blues.

He spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan with Premier League outfit Crystal Palace, where he impressed for large spells and proved he can cut it in the top flight.

Loftus-Cheek has managed to bag a World Cup spot this summer as a result and Spurs fans have even suggested that manager Mauricio Pochettino should try sign him.

It is unclear whether he will get a serious opportunity in the senior Chelsea team next season and a lot may depend on who sits in the manager seat.
