Tottenham fans: Guglielmo Vicario ‘will get Ange sacked’ after what they saw
Tottenham fans are insisting Ange Postecoglou could be sacked as a result of Guglielmo Vicario’s performances after the clash v Aston Villa.
Postecoglou’s side staged a fantastic comeback victory at home as they overturned Villa’s 1-0 half-time lead to win 4-1 thanks to a goal from Brennan Johnson, two from Dominic Solanke, and a stunning free-kick from James Maddison.
However, it was the opening goal from Morgan Rogers which caught the eye of the home crowd after another set-piece nightmare from the goalkeeper.
As the ball was delivered, the Aston Villa man blocked Vicario, 28, from coming to deal with the corner which resulted in a scramble in the box before the ball was poked home.
This is just the latest of a number of issues the shot-stopper has faced from set-pieces, with his struggles well-documented as fans begin to grow tired.
Postecoglou has faced pressure over his position as Spurs manager given the number of goals they concede, and Vicario’s antics have provided no respite.
An impressive victory against a fellow European football contender will provide a huge boost, but questions remain about their defensive solidity.
As questions are now being asked, supporters have insisted that his side’s struggles from dead-ball situations could prove to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back in terms of the manager’s future.
Vicario has consistently faced difficulties when blocked from corners, but Postecoglou has done little to adapt and help his goalkeeper, leaving fans raging.

However, since his issues have been highlighted and criticisms have grown, little has been done to help the team adapt and become stronger in set-piece situations.
As a result, supporters have taken to social media to claim the goalkeeper’s errors will eventually get Postecoglou sacked, while many have also slammed the manager’s lack of action to help solve their growing issues.
Others, meanwhile, expressed their frustrations towards Vicario as he was labelled the “worst keeper in the league.”
