'C'mon Levy', 'Amazing' - Tottenham fans in meltdown after ex-boss makes huge transfer claim

Tottenham fans have been in meltdown after the club’s former manager Harry Redknapp claimed that Gareth Bale could be on his way back to North London in the summer transfer window.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has previously reported that Spurs are gearing up a bid to re-sign Bale from Real Madrid, while Manchester United are also expected to be in the race for his signature.

Redknapp has since told Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast programme on talkSPORT that he is expects the Wales international to return to Tottenham in the summer with his place in the Real Madrid first team in real doubt.

“I think he will come home,” he told talkSPORT. “He is a homeboy. I remember giving him four, five days off when I was at Tottenham, we never had a game for two weeks, and he only went back to Wales to see his mum.

“He didn’t go off abroad anywhere exotic. He is quite a steady Eddie. I think he would like to be at home. He is a homeboy really.”

Bale has been overlooked in recent key games by Zinedine Zidane and the former Spurs attacker failed to even make an appearance off the bench in the 2-1 Champions League semi-final win over Bayern Munich earlier this week.
