Tottenham fans rage after Brennan Johnson footage re-analysed
Tottenham fans can’t believe what they saw from forward Brennan Johnson in their 4-1 win over London rivals West Ham on Saturday (October 19).
The 23-year-old has been in sensational form this season, scoring in seven consecutive games for both club and country, already surpassing last season’s total of six goals.
Left-back Destiny Udogie crossed well from the byline, finding Johnson who beat Lucas Paqueta to the ball but headed wide from just three yards out.
Thankfully for Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski was on hand to spare his blushes, canceling out Mohammed Kudus’ 18th-minute opener with a low shot into the bottom right corner.
A quickfire double just after half-time made it comfortable for the home side, with Yves Bissouma scoring just before Alphonse Areola put the ball in the back of his own net.
Not long after Heung-Min Son scored their fourth in his first game back from injury to secure the win for Spurs.
Ange Postecoglou will be delighted his side managed to pick up all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, since their 1-0 North London derby defeat to Arsenal, Spurs have a 100 per cent home record.
Spurs will be hoping their comfortable win will kickstart their season as they move up to seventh, one point behind rivals Chelsea in sixth.
