Tottenham fans rage at Cristian Romero after what he did vs Brentford

Tottenham fans tore into Cristian Romero after his poor defending in Brentford’s opener in their 3-1 win on Saturday (September 21).

The 26-year-old lost Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo, allowing the striker to open the scoring after just 22 seconds with an acrobatic close-range effort.

Spurs new boy Dominic Solanke then opened his account for the club he joined for £65million in the summer just seven minutes later.

Under-fire winger Brennan Johnson then got Spurs’ second, beating Mark Flekken in the Brentford goal with a lovely finish from a tight angle.

James Maddison then saw Brentford off with a cheeky chip over the keeper to secure all three points for the home side.

It’s been an underwhelming start to the season for Ange Postecoglu’s side, but this win put a smile on the Australian’s face and Spurs now have two wins, one draw, and two defeats in their opening five Premier League games.

Tottenham fans frustrated with Cristian Romero

The centre-back has played every minute of football for Spurs so far this season after a busy summer with Argentina which saw him lift the Copa America.

Romero recently re-posted a claim he was tired during their north London derby defeat to Arsenal on Sunday (September 15).

Spurs fans took to X, formally known as Twitter, to voice their frustrations over the defender’s performance.
