Tottenham fans rage at ‘worst thing ENIC has ever done’ after shock development
Tottenham supporters have been raging at the club for changing the logo and removing the name of the team, claiming that the decision from majority owners ENIC is “so embarrassing.”
Spurs revealed the new club badge on Monday (18 November) and stated it was done to remaster their brand identity, highlighting an instantly recognisable symbol with the cockerel reimagined on the logo.
There is very little change in the new badge compared to what Spurs previously had but removing the Tottenham Hotspur text is something that has angered fans.
Tottenham claimed that the decision was made with the input of over 300 players and staff who understand what the club means to them.
The club removed the text for a specific reason as it will enable them to scale it to different environments, but that doesn’t mean it was supported by the fans.
Many found the change to be underwhelming and pointless, while others took greater offence to the tweaks.
Tottenham fans believe the club’s identity has been removed
Supporters claimed that decisions are being made that are gradually “tearing away” the identity of Spurs, while others admitted they “hate” the owners for this choice.
