‘Master class’, ‘Out of this world’ – Tottenham fans rave over one man v Chelsea (not Dele)
Tottenham fans were left raving over the performance of Christian Eriksen against Chelsea despite Dele Alli grabbing the headlines with his brace at Stamford Bridge.
Alvaro Morata gave the Blues the lead shortly before the half-hour mark after a cross from the right found the head of the Spanish striker who netted past Hugo Lloris.
However a wonderful strike from Christian Eriksen on the stroke of half-time to level gave Mauricio Pochettino’s side the impetus going into the second half.
So it proved as Dele Alli put the visitors ahead in the 61st minute, latching onto a long Eric Dier ball to finish with aplomb after just two touches.
The England international then bagged his second of the game, capitalising on a block and finishing just yards out to send the visiting supporters into raptures and cement their place in the top four against their London rivals.
However, it was the display of Danish international Christian Eriksen which had the Spurs fans delighted.
Once again, his performance was a major factor between the two teams, acting as the lynchpin for all that was good about Spurs.
The victory puts eights points between Spurs and Chelsea in fifth as Pochettino’s side all but mathematically confirmed their Champions League status for next season.
