
Tottenham fans react as Graham Potter spotted during Burnley win – ‘Suspicious’
Tottenham fans on social media were full of theories after Graham Potter was pictured watching their 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday (11 May).
Spurs kept their hopes of Champions League qualification alive after rescuing three points against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Vincent Kompany’s side kicked off in North London knowing they would be relegated if they failed to win and they took an early lead via Jacob Bruun Larsen.
However, Pedro Porro struck Spurs level in the first half and Micky van de Ven made the most of a makeshift left-back position to roam forward and score the winner for the hosts after the break.
Ange Postecoglou’s side can still pip Aston Villa to a fourth-placed finish depending on the results of the final two league matches.
The Tottenham boss has faced questions over his future in recent weeks after Spurs lost four consecutive league games.
Rumours over Postecoglou’s position only grew after former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter was pictured watching the match.
Potter is currently unemployed and recently rejected a proposal to manage Ajax.
Fans on social media had plenty of theories for why Potter was in attendance on Saturday, with some supporters speculating that he could replace Postecoglou.
Tottenham return to action on Tuesday evening (14 May) when they face title-chasing Manchester City at home.
Postecoglou’s side will then end their season on Sunday (19 May) when they face relegated Sheffield United.
