Nabil Bentaleb has explained he has no regrets about leaving Tottenham in the summer – and the club’s supporters have reacted with anger on Twitter.
The 21-year-old midfielder left Spurs on a season-long loan to German side Schalke after falling down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
The Algerian international made just 11 senior appearances last season and is attempting to secure regular football at Schalke.
He has already made eight appearances for the German outfit this season, who currently sit 16th in the Bundesliga following a disappointing start.
Bentaleb revealed that he does not have any second thoughts about leaving Spurs despite a difficult beginning.
“Even if Tottenham were leading I would not regret my move,” Bentaleb told German outlet Bild, as quoted by talkSPORT.
“At Schalke they believe in me. I’ve decided, and nothing changes just because we lost a few games.”
The Spurs fans voiced their frustration about Bentaleb’s comments and some believe his future at the club is now over.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

It's obvious why Bentaleb got shipped out. He's got a massively overinflated ego. He needs to shut up, don't start running your mouth
