Tottenham fans react to Harry Winks performance v Liverpool

By Danny Wright

Tottenham fans on Twitter were left raving about midfielder Harry Winks for his performance in the 4-1 win against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday.

Although Harry Kane, who scored yet another brace, will no doubt make all the headlines, it was Winks, 19, who caught the eye of the Spurs fans, who were left in awe at the teenager’s maturity in such a high-stakes Premier League game this weekend.

Heung-min Son and Dele Alli were also on the scoresheet for Spurs as they moved level on points with second-placed Man United in the league table following their shock defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who yet again looked hapless in defence as worries grow on Merseyside.

Nevertheless, there were no such worries for the Spurs fans and most of all for Winks, who seems to be getting better and better each time he pulls on the Tottenham shirt.

Fans did little play down the midfielder’s display, with one dubbing him as a “young Stevie Perryman”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Winks has emerged as one of the best players in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up for the last few games.

He stood out against Real Madrid in the 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night and it seems that the world is an oyster to the teenage sensation as his form continues to improve.
