Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after Erik Lamela was pictured back in first-team training yesterday (Thursday).

Spurs announced on their official Twitter account that the Argentine attacking midfielder trained with the rest of the senior squad along with fellow long-term absentee Danny Rose.

Lamela is on course for a playing return this month as he completes the rehabilitation on his injured hip.

It is not known when the international will be available for selection, although the fixtures will come thick and fast over the coming weeks.

The earliest date he could return is Saturday home clash against Bournemouth, although the Champions League trip to Real Madrid three days later and the showdown against Liverpool at Wembley on 22 October are more likely possibilities.
