Tottenham fans react on Twitter to England line-up v Lithuania
By Dominic Toner
Three Tottenham players have been named in England’s starting line-up against Lithuania – but the club’s supporters were more delighted to see Jermain Defoe lead the line for the national side.
Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and Dele Alli have all been selected in the starting XI by Gareth Southgate for the World Cup qualifier.
The Spurs trio all started in the recent 1-0 defeat against Germany in a friendly, but will be hoping to inspire the side at Wembley to a victory against Lithuania.
Southgate has decided to make four alteration to his side as Defoe, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling and John Stones come into the side.
That means Gary Cahill (suspended), Jake Livermore, Jamie Vardy and the injured Chris Smalling drop out.

Defoe continues to be a popular figure at White Hart Lane despite the fact he is now plying his trade for Sunderland.
The forward has made a total of 358 appearances for Spurs in the past and scored 139 goals in return.
The 34-year-old has been rewarded with an England call-up after his impressive form for Sunderland this campaign, scoring 14 goals in just 31 appearances.
He has been given the opportunity to impress against Lithuania, where he will be making his first England appearance since 2013.
