Harry Kane and Dele Alli scored on their returns to the Tottenham side on Friday – and fans reacted with delight on Twitter.

The two star players both started the 6-1 demolition of Inter Milan in Oslo after they had been given extended breaks following Euro 2016.

Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose also returned to the starting lineup, but it was the performances from Kane and Alli which really impressed the Spurs faithful.

Kane featured for 62 minutes and managed to get on the score sheet twice, with a penalty after five minutes and a neat finish around the hour mark.

Meanwhile, Alli was brought off with 76 minutes on the clock after curling an effort around opposition goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Erik Lamela, Shayon Harrison and Vincent Janssen also got on the scoresheet during the match.

Mauricio Pochettino and the Tottenham fans will be overjoyed that their two stars have put in impressive performances with eight days left before their opening match against Everton.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Pochettino will be hoping his team continues their form once the season starts as he looks to improve on the club’s third place finish, while also competing in the Champions League.
