Tottenham have been handed a trip to Liverpool in the last 16 of the League Cup – and Spurs fans are looking forward to one of the ties of the round.
The London giants will travel to Merseyside in the week beginning 24 October for the second meeting between the two sides in the early months of the new season.
Liverpool and Tottenham drew 1-1 in the Premier League at White Hart Lane last month as a James Milner penalty was cancelled out by a Danny Rose equaliser.
Both teams secured comfortable passages into the fourth round of the League Cup against lower league opposition.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-0 at Championship outfit Derby on Tuesday night, and 24 hours later, Mauricio Pochettino’s team hammered League One Gillingham 5-0.
Spurs fans recognise a trip to Liverpool is a testing fixture, particularly against a side who have picked strong teams in their two matches in the competition this season.
But the White Hart Lane faithful believe it would be an ideal time to end their recent jinx against the Merseysiders.

Liverpool away in the next round. I am presuming the winner of that game will go on to lift the trophy #coys

The team Pochettino names in the next round, away at Liverpool, will give a real indication of how seriously he’s taking the EFL cup. #COYS

Great win tonight with number of youngsters stepping up to the plate. Bigger tests to come though starting with Liverpool away. #COYS
