Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Luka Modric comments

By Amir Mir

Luka Modric believes Tottenham have a chance of winning the Premier League title in the near future – and fans on Twitter urged him to return to the club.

Real Madrid midfielder Modric was full of praise for Spurs, in particular, their star striker Harry Kane who was called “unbelievable” by the Croatian international.

Modric made those comments during an interview with Sky Sports and the Spurs faithful were delighted that their former player was giving his backing to the club.

Mauricio Pochettino guided his team to third place last season and the Argentine currently has them sitting in second, ten points behind leaders Chelsea with 11 matches of the season remaining.

Nonetheless, after his comments about Spurs, the White Hart Lane faithful were remembering the great player Modric was for them.

One fan stated that he was his all time favourite player and watching him perform was like poetry in motion.

Furthermore, others asked if Modric is going to come back to the club, with one fan saying he would buy him back.

It is unlikely that Pochettino’s side will catch their London rivals in the title race, but one fan asked the Real Madrid man to come back and help them secure that elusive PL crown.

Others were just grateful that an ex-player was speaking highly of them but many were in agreement that they would like Modric to come back to the club.
