Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Rose injury v Sunderland

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham full-back Danny Rose was forced off the pitch after just 38 minutes in Tuesday’s clash against Sunderland, and Spurs fans aired their worries on Twitter.

The 26-year-old is one of the guaranteed starters in the north London club’s team after becoming a star of the side this season.

He has played in 20 encounters in all competitions, but it now looks like he could be set for a spell on the sidelines after he went off with a knee injury against the Black Cats.

The match between Spurs and Sunderland finished 0-0 at the Stadium of Light and many supporters on social media felt they were missing the attacking influence of Rose.

Additionally, fans were critical of the performance of Ben Davies after he took to the field to replace the England international.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Rose has been part of a successful Tottenham back four this season which has conceded just 16 goals from their 23 matches.

He will be keen to make a quick return to the side as Spurs hold aspirations of winning the Premier League title with nine points between them and league leaders Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will face Middlesbrough next at White Hart Lane on Saturday before travelling to Anfield for an important top of the table clash against Liverpool.

In other Tottenham news, this senior Spurs man revealed he held talks with Pochettino after transfer speculation.
