Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Wanyama display v West Brom

Victor Wanyama played 90 minutes against West Brom on Saturday – and the Tottenham fans praised his performance on Twitter.

Spurs recorded a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns in the Premier League and maintained the only unbeaten record still in the division.

Former player Nacer Chadli appeared to have won it for the hosts in the 82nd minute, but Dele Alli scored a late equaliser to earn a point.

The result drops Spurs down to third and they are just a point behind Manchester City and Arsenal.

Wanyama, 25, retained his starting position in the side and he played every minute of Spurs’ league campaign this season.

The Kenyan international started the match ahead of substitutes Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele, the pair who were so instrumental in the club’s title challenge last season.

Tottenham fans expressed their delight with Wanyama’s display despite dropping points against West Brom.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino signed Wanyama in the summer for £11million from Southampton.

The combative midfielder has settled quickly at White Hart Lane and the club have switched formation to a 4-1-4-1 in recent games, something which has highlighted the defensive qualities of Wanyama.

He has helped the club become serious title contenders and scored the winning goal against Crystal Palace in August.

Wanyama previously impressed during spells at Southampton and Celtic, but is now focused on continuing is development with Spurs.
