'Devastated', 'Goodbye' - Tottenham fans react to senior player tweet after win v Chelsea

By Richard Parks

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react with frustration to an upbeat Twitter message from Toby Alderweireld in the wake of Sunday’s win at Chelsea.

Spurs came from a goal down to beat their London rivals 3-1 and secure their first win at Stamford Bridge in 28 years with a memorable performance.

Alderweireld was omitted from the matchday squad despite being fit and available for selection after playing 90 minutes for Belgium in midweek.

He took to his personal Twitter account in the wake of the win to hail a “terrific win” and praised goalscorers Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

Spurs fans are desperate for Alderweireld, 29, to end his contract stalemate with the club and extend his stay with the team he has served with such distinction over the last three seasons.
