Tottenham fans react to Erik Lamela Twitter message

By Amir Mir

Erik Lamela has recollected the moment he helped Tottenham beat Manchester United on April 2016 – and fans on Twitter have wished he can do it again.

Lamela helped Mauricio Pochettino’s side secure a remarkable 3-0 win over United at White Hart Lane, with the home team scoring three second-half goals in the space of six minutes.

The Argentinan winger was one of the names on the scoresheet that day as he also provided an assist to Dele Alli.

Since then, he has barely featured for his team as he has missed the majority of this campaign through injury.

The 25-year-old has had constant problems with his hip and will miss the rest of the campaign with supporters wondering when he will return.

He last featured for Spurs when they were beaten at Liverpool in the EFL Cup in October, with his last league appearance coming three days prior to that match.

One fan stated that he cannot wait for Lamela to recover from his injury and score goals like the one against United once again.

Furthermore, another supporter labelled that win against United as one of her favourite moments at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are set to leave their old home this season and temporarily move into Wembley next term as their new home is being built.

Manchester United will be their last opponents at the Lane – the Premier League fixture will be played on May 13.
