Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has joined Fenerbahce a season-long loan deal – and Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to deliver mixed verdicts.
Some have branded manager Mauricio Pochettino a “liar” for claiming on Thursday that Janssen still had a big part to play this season while others predicted it was the “end of the road” for the Dutchman’s Spurs career.
The north Londoners released a statement on their official Twitter account on Friday night to reveal they have agreed terms with Fenerbahce about the shock transfer of Jansson.

Spurs fans reacted en masse to news of Janssen’s imminent departure just over a year after he was heralded as a key signing.
Some do not expect to see him again in a Tottenham shirt, while others believe he can rebuild his confidence and come back to White Hart Lane a better player.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

I hope it didn’t lie about alderwerield or the fact that he also said about them discussing a new contract after window closes last week :/

Technically, he was right. Said he still has a future (that depends if he does well in Turkey)

Head up Janssen. First team football can do wonders and you’ll be back before you know it. Looking forward to your return! #COYS

Didn’t expect that, must be the end for him. RIP Vinny

Crazy if you guys think he has future with Spurs. Club won’t put him abroad for development. At least a decent league.

I hope he does well, he’s young and needs game time, I just hope he’s not another Soldado in being just another fan fav.

Signals the end of the road for his Spurs career you’d imagine?

Janssen joined Spurs in the summer of 2016 for around £18million from AZ Alkmaar after topping the Eredivise 2015-16 goal charts with 27 goals.
He has struggled to make an impression in north Londoner and netted just six goals from 38 matches in his debut campaign, with four of them coming from the penalty spot.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have been hit by a devastating blow as a key first-teamer has been sidelined until next year.
