‘Actually excited for once’ – Tottenham fans react to major Thomas Frank announcement

Tottenham supporters have been left delighted by the news that the Premier League club have appointed Thomas Frank.

The former Brentford boss steered the Bees to a 10th-place finish in the top flight last season, proving his managerial credentials.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou was sacked after guiding Tottenham to a lowly 17th spot, but also managed to steer Spurs to the Europa League title.

Consequently, Frank will have the opportunity to manage the North Londoners in the Champions League next season.

As Tottenham confirmed the news via X on Thursday, 12 June, one fan commented: “Actually excited about our future for once.”

Another member of the Spurs faithful said: “Very excited for this appointment, the back room staff looks superb as well.”

Frank must hit the ground running at Tottenham

Although Tottenham endured a woeful Premier League season last term, finishing just one position above the relegation zone, Frank has big shoes to fill after Postecoglou brought an end to the North London club’s long wait for silverware.

Postecoglou won the Europa League for Spurs

Despite their poor performances domestically last season, the Australian has lifted expectations at Spurs by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United last month.

It is therefore vital that Frank enjoys a successful start to life in the Tottenham dugout, while the UEFA Super Cup clash with PSG on 13 August could prove to be a baptism of fire.

The French Ligue 1 winners dismantled Inter 5-0 in the Champions League final on 31 May, so the former Brentford boss must ensure his side are defensively solid in his first competitive match.

Frank could bolster his chances of having a strong start to life in North London if he signs Bryan Mbeumo from the Bees, although Manchester United are also interested in the Cameroon international.

Meanwhile, Spurs defender Cristian Romero has been tipped to release a statement in a Tottenham News exclusive.
