Tottenham fans on Twitter claim the club have unearthed their next superstar
By Harry Sykes
Harry Winks played the full 90 minutes of Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Burnley on Sunday – and fans took to Twitter to hail the midfielder as the club’s next superstar.
Winks was named in Spurs’ starting XI for the seventh time this season, but it was only the third time he has started a Premier League match.
The 20-year-old academy product was in central midfield with Victor Wanyama, while Mousa Dembele was pushed into a more attacking midfield role.
With Eric Dier lining up in central defence alongside Jan Vertonghen, it meant that Tottenham’s four leading central midfielders were all in the team.
Winks has made impressive strides this season after gaining the confidence of manager Mauricio Pochettino and has been a regular member of the matchday squad.

Goals from Dele Alli and Danny Rose helped Spurs beat Burnley and secure the three points in their home clash at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino’s side are fifth in the Premier League and just three points adrift of Manchester City in second, although they are a distant 10 behind leaders and bitter rivals Chelsea.
In other Tottenham news, fans have reacted after the club agreed the terms of a 21-year-old move in January.
