Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Trippier display in Watford demolition

By Will Butcher

Tottenham fans have reacted with praise on Twitter for defender Kieran Trippier after he deputised for Kyle Walker at right-back against Watford.

Spurs trounced Walter Mazzarri’s side at White Hart Lane by four goals to nil, with the north London giants scoring all going into the break 3-0 to the good.

Goals from Dele Alli, Eric Dier and a brace from Son Heung-Min secured the goals for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, with Trippier providing an inch-perfect assist for Son’s second.

Former Burnley right-back Trippier was given a chance on the right side of defence in Saturday’s clash at White Hart Lane, as Walker was rested for the clash.

Oozing class on the right flank, Tottenham’s number 16 rarely gave the ball away and look composed during the important win that kept the pressure on league leaders Chelsea.

Trippier has been limited to just 16 appearances in all competitions by England international Walker, but proved that he is more than adequate to fill in for Walker when needed.

Spurs will now be hoping Bournemouth can do them a favour against league leaders Chelsea on Saturday evening, as they look to claw in Antonio Conte’s side.
