Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Wanyama display v Crystal Palace
By Will Butcher
Tottenham fans lauded Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to remove Victor Wanyama at half-time against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old struggled at Selhurst Park during Spurs’ 1-0 win away from home, which saw Spurs reduce the gap to four points after Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Southampton on Tuesday.
Former Southampton midfielder Wanyama was taken off at half-time after failing to have any kind of impact, with some home fans at Selhurst Park calling for him to be sent off.
The Kenya captain was off the pace and was second best to a number of midfield challenges that saw him pick up a yellow card for a tackle on Luka Milivojevic.
With Wanyama continuing to foul, Pochettino took him off the field of play and replace with him South Korea international Son Heung-Min.

Tottenham fans reacted with frustration at Wanyama’s display, with some criticising him for endangering their chances of winning by succumbing to a rush of blood in his tackling.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Similar to last season. Lack of depth in squad to make big changes. Dembele frustrated in CM and Wanyama is a walking red card. #COYS

Spurs will now look to beat north London rivals Arsenal on Sunday and hope Chelsea slip up against Everton at Goodison Park, if they are to close the gap to just a point at the top of the Premier League.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have cancelled the contract of this defender.
