By Harry Sykes
Kevin Wimmer returned to the Tottenham starting XI in their 4-1 Premier League win at Watford on Sunday – and supporters took to Twitter to hail his display.
The Austria international took his place in a rejigged defence as manager Mauricio Pochettino was unable to call upon suspended pair Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen.
Wimmer was one of a three centre-backs selected in a 3-5-2 formation, lining up alongside Eric Dier and the returning Toby Alderweireld.
It was a a selection that paid dividends as Spurs ripped Watford apart at Vicarage Road, romping into a four-goal lead after just 46 minutes through two goals apiece from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Fans were impressed with the display of Wimmer in just his third league start of the season and took to social media to hail his solid contribution to the win.

Thought Wimmer slotted in the back 3 well. Trippier was excellent at wing back and great to have Toby back and Kane firing again! HNY! #COYS
