Tottenham fans react to Harry Winks display for England in win v Lithuania
By Danny Wright
Tottenham fans on Twitter were blown away by the performance of Harry Winks in England’s 1-0 win in Lithuania on Sunday evening.
Gareth Southgate’s side had already secured qualification to the World Cup in Russia next summer, but ended their campaign with three points, courtesy of a converted penalty from Harry Kane in the first half after Dele Alli was fouled.
Although there was a duo of Spurs players involved in the only goals of the game, it was Winks, 21, who got the North London clubs’ fans talking for his display in the centre of the pitch.
The midfielder earned his first senior international cap and left supporters on social media raving about him, especially for his ability to retain possession and spark the England attacks.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Winks has only started one Premier League game for Spurs this season and has made seven appearances across all competitions.
He really began to emerge under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino last term when he made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal in the process which came as a derby day winner against West Ham.
The midfielder’s season was cut short in early April though after he suffered an injury at Burnley.
