Tottenham fans rip into ‘inept’ medical department after Cristian Romero reveal

Tottenham supporters have been left feeling worried about their own medical department following Cristian Romero’s surprise revelation.

The 26-year-old made his long-awaited comeback to the Tottenham team on Sunday (9 March) in what was his first performance since December.

The Argentina international has spent three months on the sidelines, but was given 61 minutes in the Premier League to help make a return to full-match sharpness.

Spurs put together an incredible fightback to rescue a point in that game after initially going two goals behind in the first 65 minutes of the game.

The match appeared to be beyond Spurs, but an incredible long-range effort from Pape Matar Sarr put them back into the game.

That was followed up by Son Heung-min being fouled by Kepa which resulted in a penalty that was converted by Son himself.

Cristian Romero reveals details about his rehabilitation process

Romero’s return was a massive positive from the game and something that Ange Postecoglou will look to take advantage of in the final months of the season both in the Premier League and in Europe.

The defender sent a message to X about his recovery, “After a difficult period full of things that happened in between, I am back with the group and happy to be able to help the team. There is certainly a lot to correct and work on, but we are together and eager to reverse this situation. See you on Thursday, we will come back stronger than ever, all together @SpursOfficial

Thankful to the physios at @Argentina for getting me out of a bad moment and putting me back on the field where I am so happy. Thank you all for your continued support.”

Interestingly, Romero thanked the medical staff at his international team rather than Spurs which has left supporters concerned.

Tottenham fans are questioning their own medical team

The fact that Romero felt the need to outsource his medical work is something that has worried fans who claimed that it’s “not a great read from a Tottenham perspective.”

Supporters believe that his admission confirms the medical team are “mediocre” and are “not good enough” in a season that has seen the squad hampered with injuries.
