Tottenham fans rip into ‘unforgivable’ Daniel Levy after journalist’s Eberechi Eze update

Tottenham fans have vented their frustration at Daniel Levy after the latest update on long-term target Eberechi Eze.

Spurs have already made big changes this summer, with Thomas Frank coming in to replace Ange Postecoglou as head coach.

The new appointment has been welcomed by most supporters, but patience is starting to wear thin already with no major signings through the door so far.

It’s shaping up to be a busy window, and Football Insider previously reported that Tottenham are preparing to open talks with Crystal Palace star Eze and his representatives over a possible move.

Spurs have tracked Eze for some time, and with a £68million release clause in his current deal, a transfer is very much on the table.

But with no formal bid made yet, frustration is growing among fans — especially as fresh updates emerge over the England international’s future.

Tottenham step back from Eberechi Eze deal amid Arsenal interest

Ben Jacobs revealed on talkSPORT (27 June) that Tottenham are understood to have “backed off” from making a formal move for Eze.

Jacobs explained that while Spurs’ interest in the Crystal Palace star is “genuine”, it currently remains just interest and described a potential move to North London rivals Arsenal as “one to watch”.

It follows reports that Arsenal have entered the race to sign Eze as they look to strengthen their left-wing options ahead of the new season.

The former QPR forward enjoyed a standout campaign for Palace, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists, while also netting the winner in the FA Cup final.

Eze was released by Arsenal as a teenager, but a return to the Emirates as an established Premier League star could now be on the cards — and potentially ahead of Spurs’ pursuit.

Tottenham fans demand Daniel Levy exit amid Eze frustration

Tottenham supporters were left stunned by Levy’s recent comments in his first interview following Postecoglou’s sacking, where he insisted he wants to win both the Premier League and Champions League — adding that finishing 17th is “not good enough”.

But fans have been quick to call him out following the latest update on Eze, pointing to the lack of ambition in the transfer market as a contradiction to his bold claims, with Spurs now seemingly backing away from a potential deal.

One fan reacted to the news by saying: “Levy has to resign and leave the club along with ENIC. If they’re not going to spend… then they have to sell to someone with ambition.”

Another added: “So, no [Bryan] Mbeumo. No Eze. [Antoine] Semenyo too expensive. Levy wants to win the league? That bloke’s a comedian.”
