Tottenham fans say the same thing about ‘arrogant’ Djed Spence after what he did vs Arsenal

Tottenham fans think Djed Spence believes he is better than he is following a 4-1 defeat against north London rivals Arsenal.

It was the worst possible start for Spurs‘ new interim manager Igor Tudor, with just a four-point gap now between them and the relegation zone following the defeat.

Eberechi Eze, who scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture, and Viktor Gyokeres fired home the goals for Arsenal.

Randal Kolo Muani’s first half equaliser had given Spurs hope heading into the second period, but Tudor faces a mountain of problems heading into the final 11 games of the Premier League season.

Djed Spence ‘by far the worst player’ against Arsenal

Spence had the task of trying to keep Bukayo Saka quiet down the right flank, but the 25-year-old struggled to cope against Arsenal’s attack.

The full-back won five of his 15 ground duels, committed four fouls, and made one error leading to a shot on goal.

Amid an injury crisis, there are little alternatives for Tudor to choose from right now, with Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro and Ben Davies all on the sidelines.

Spence’s performances this season have seen him called up to the England squad, and he could be a member of Thomas Tuchel’s team at this summer’s World Cup.

However, one Spurs fan claims Spence is “bang average” whilst another can’t understand why the club would want to keep a “useless” player.

Tottenham face financial problem if they’re relegated

Whilst Spurs fans may not have been optimistic of a result against Arsenal, West Ham‘s draw against Bournemouth means they have dropped closer to the relegation zone.

Spurs are currently on a nine-game winless run in the Premier League, which Tudor knows he has to rectify as soon as possible.

If the club are relegated to the Championship for the very first time, then they could face a financial issue.

It has been revealed that Spurs stars do not have relegation salary reduction clauses in their contracts, meaning players would remain on Premier League wages in the Championship.

After finishing 17th last season, the club have been told to rectify this and insert salary reduction clauses into every player’s contract from now on.
