Tottenham fans should be thrilled by what I ‘heard’ from Harry Kane – Robinson
Paul Robinson is thrilled by what he “heard” from Tottenham striker Harry Kane after the win over Brighton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 28-year-old’s comments about Antonio Conte are “very encouraging” for Spurs fans.
Kane scored a brace as Tottenham booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Speaking to ITV after the win, as quoted by Manchester Evening News (6 February), Kane lauded Conte for “changing his mindset” this season.
Robinson claimed the England captain is very close to his best again.
“Kane looked very good,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“He looked like he was very close to his best again. I still don’t think he’s 100 per cent yet but he looks fit and hungry.
“I like what I heard from him after the game. His relationship with Conte sounds great. He’s clearly impressed by the manager on and off the field. I just thought his comments after the game were very encouraging for Spurs fans.
“Something was wrong under Nuno, not just for Kane but for others as well. The camp was not a harmonious one. I think some of the players saw the appointment as a lack of ambition from the club.”

Speaking to ITV, Kane said: “Conte’s been brilliant, I can’t thank him enough as a coach and a person.
“He’s really changed the mindset of a lot of players in the team.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have been given ‘full control’ of transfers after statement issued.
