'Absolute joke', 'Liability' - Tottenham fans slaughter one player for first-half display

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to destroy Davinson Sanchez for his first-half display in their team’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

The centre-back was named in the starting XI as Mauricio Pochettino made three changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Juventus in the Champions League in midweek.

Sanchez, 21, continued his regular partnership at the back with Jan Vertonghen, although Pochettino once again rotated his full-backs as Danny Rose and Serge Aurier replaced Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies in the side.

Spurs were initially all over the place as their defence were caught off guard by a high-tempo start from Bournemouth, who took the lead through Junior Stanislas moments after he had missed a sitter.

Dele Alli equalised for Tottenham moments after Harry Kane was substituted with an ankle injury and the score at half-time in an entertaining encounter was 1-1.

Sanchez was at fault for the Bournemouth goal as he got caught out of position, which meant that Serge Aurier had to compensate by competing for a high ball, to leave Stanislas free at the back post.

Tottenham supporters were unimpressed with record-signing Sanchez and the comments panned him for being a “liability” and an “absolute joke” among other things.
