Tottenham fans stunned by ‘club ambassador’ after his ‘massive’ Daniel Levy claim
Tottenham supporters are fuming with club ambassador and former player Michael Dawson following his statement about the ongoing situation at the club.
Spurs currently find themselves 15th in the Premier League table after a dismal first half of the season which has seen them win just seven games.
Pressure has begun mounting on the board to sign some players in a bid to strengthen the club, while others have been calling for Daniel Levy to him to step down and sell due to a lack of progress.
Dawson spoke to Sky Sports about the situation and said, “When you look at the money Daniel Levy and the ownership have spent, they have tried. He’s brought Jose Mourinho in, put him on a massive contract, Conte, he’s tried but ultimately they just keep coming up short. They get so close and they fall and there’s disappointment.
“This pressure when you’re in the stadium from a player and the fans turning on the owners and Daniel Levy, it’s not easy and they feel the pressure.
“The fans have to try and stick with this team, I know it’s hard, it’s challenging because every team wants to win something.”
Tottenham fans believe Michael Dawson is protecting Daniel Levy
Dawson’s comments have not been met well by Spurs fans who have claimed he’s pushing “the same nonsense propaganda” that they always hear.
Others have told the former defender to “read the room,” while fans have stressed the situation is “frustrating” and that Dawson’s comments are “disappointing.”
