Tottenham fans taken aback by what Harry Kane did after Bayern Munich clash

Tottenham fans have been left emotional after Harry Kane refused to lift the pre-season ‘Visit Malta Cup’ trophy awarded to Bayern Munich after their victory.

Vincent Kompany’s side emerged as 3-2 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after goals from Bayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller cancelled out Dejan Kulusevski’s brace.

However, it was Kane who grabbed the headlines once again as he refused to lift the trophy – despite having taken the armband following Joshua Kimmich’s substitution.

Throughout the striker’s career, the one thing that has followed him has been his failure to win a major trophy – both at Tottenham and Bayern.

While the pre-season award is far from a major trophy, he showed respect for his former club in deciding not to be at the centre of the celebrations.

Harry Kane wows Tottenham fans after what he did for Bayern Munich

During his first season at Bayern Munich, Kane scored X goals and provided X assists in X games, but shockingly failed to win silverware.

This season, he will be looking to remedy that situation in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, or Champions League – hoping for a pre-season trophy to be the first of many.

Tottenham fans took to social media to praise Kane, with the love between both parties remaining despite his exit last summer.
