Tottenham fans told to brace themselves for new Kane storm after official statement – pundit
Tottenham fans have been told to brace themselves for a new Harry Kane storm after his recent failed attempt to leave.
The former Leeds United hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on Kane.
On Wednesday (25 August) Kane took to social media to state he would be staying with Tottenham.
Kane followed up his statement with two goals in the UEFA Conference League less than a day later.
Whelan insists this is a testament to the striker’s professionalism but warned he may not be completely committed to Spurs.
“I don’t think Kane really had an option,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“He’s come out and said he’s happy to stay, he is now because the move never materialised.
“Daniel Levy was asking for too much money and Man City were never going to pay it.
“There was a stalemate and they had no options. He probably is happy to stay at Tottenham but is he 100%?
“No, he can’t be, he asked to leave. It’s not going to happen so he has to knuckle down and work hard. He showed his professionalism the other night by scoring the goals.
“He won’t sulk or spit his dummy out, he’s not that player. Kane wanted the move, it didn’t happen, now it’s down to business with Tottenham.

“He might be the player who pushes Spurs towards that top four again.
“At the end of the day, Kane is a Tottenham player. But, at the end of the season will fans see this saga again? Quite probably.”
