Tottenham fans on Twitter urge Pochettino to axe mainstay v Manchester United
By Alex Stevens
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their belief that Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier should be reunited in midfield against Manchester United on Sunday.
Members of the White Hart faithful claimed on the social media site that Victor Wanyama should be axed to make way for the pair in the showdown at Old Trafford.
The call has been made to drop Wanyama even though he has been a mainstay of the side since joining from Southampton for £12million in the summer.
The midfield anchorman has started all 14 of Tottenham’s Premier League matches as well as five of their six Champions League encounters.
But Spurs fans believe the return of fit-again centre-back Toby Alderweireld provides the perfect opportunity to restore Dier to the central midfield slot where he was such a success last season.

The partnership of Dier and Dembele in central midfield was integral to Tottenham mounting a title challenge and securing third position in the league.
But the a combination of suspensions and injury mean the pair have barely played together as a midfield partnership this season.
Fans believe that should be about to change.

Think Wanyama’s been great, but wouldnt mind Dembele and Dier together v ManU. That is IF Toby’s fit to start. #COYS

Wanyamas form has dropped off in recent weeks. He should play the 90 tonight but dembele dier screen should be back on Sunday. #coys

Really great to see Dier in midfield again at the end of last night. Offers so much more in vision + passing ability. Makes us tick #COYS
