Tottenham fans urge Pochettino to start 24-year-old v Crystal Palace
By Will Butcher
Tottenham fans have called on Mauricio Pochettino to start left-back Ben Davies against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night at Selhurst Park.
Pochettino left the Wales international on the substitutes’ bench during Saturday evening’s FA Cup semi-final clash against London rivals Chelsea, as they lost 4-2 to Antonio Conte’s side.
The 24-year-old was overlooked for South Korea star Son Heung-Min, despite the former Bayer Leverkusen star being better suited in the final third, instead of left wing-back.
Son struggled in a move defensive role against the Blues, and that has led to calls from Spurs fans to bring Davies back into the starting line-up to face Sam Allardyce’s side.
Former Swansea defender Davies has been given an extended run in Spurs’ side this season, as Danny Rose continues to struggle with an ankle injury.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter ahead of Wednesday night’s clash in an attempt to persuade Argentinian manager Pochettino to hand Davies a return on the left side of his 3-4-3 system.

Fully expect Davies & probably Walker to be restored to the line-up tomorrow which makes Saturday's team selection even more baffling #COYS

I'd go with this team tomorow: Hugo; Walker, Toby, Jan, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Eriksen, Dele, Son; Kane. #COYS #THFC #CRYTOT

Predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace. Son dropped for Davies and Walker back in for Trippier. Need to bounce back after FA Cup loss! #THFC pic.twitter.com/P6Zj0o5fTd

Surely you start Davies? He's fit if he's on the bench no?

If Davies is fit to start thats the lineup except I would stick with Trippier at RWB

Davies has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, scoring once against Aston Villa in the FA Cup as well as keeping 13 clean sheets for the north London giants.
Spurs will be desperate for a repeat of the reverse fixture that saw Pochettino’s side earn a 1-0 win in August against Palace, as they look to reduce the gap between themselves and Chelsea to four points.
In other Tottenham news, this Spurs defender has had his contract terminated by the club.
