'Trash,' 'Back to pathetic' - Tottenham fans fume at first-half display of one player v Liverpool

Tottenham went in 1-0 down at half-time as the Lillywhites struggled to contain a flurry of attacks from a resurgent Liverpool side in the opening 45 minutes at Anfield
And the Spurs faithful had some strong words for one of their players.
Kieran Trippier, the former Burnley right-back, was one of the players to have the finger of blame pointed at him for his part in conceding possession of the ball which led to Mo Salah putting Liverpool 1-0 up in the 3rd minute.
The 27-year-old has made 22 appearances for Tottenham this season under Mauricio Pochettino and supporters were already unhappy pre-match when the team was announced and they saw the England international’s inclusion in the line-up.
Serge Aurier was the man fans of the Lillywhites wanted to see in the right-back role, but the Argentinian manager preferred to use the more defensive Trippier over the Ivorian.
Spurs struggled to create any real opportunities in the first-half except for a Son Heung-Min effort when the South Korean found himself free in the box on the right but his effort went well wide.
After their win against Manchester United on Wednesday at Wembley, Tottenham’s slow start to the Premier League fixture would have been a surprise as they aim to continue to pile the pressure on the side’s above in their quest to attain Champions League football next season.
