Tottenham fans will absolutely love what Cristian Romero said ahead of Villarreal clash
Cristian Romero will have delighted Spurs fans with his comments before the club’s Champions League opener against Villarreal.
Spurs have won three of their opening four Premier League fixtures, with Romero starting every match under boss Thomas Frank.
Romero was linked with a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer before signing a new contract with Spurs.
The Argentine has formed a partnership with Micky van de Ven at the back which has set the foundations for early success under Frank.

Cristian Romero denies wanting to leave Tottenham
Romero spoke to the media at the pre-match press conference before Villarreal and addressed questions around the summer transfer window and whether he wanted to leave the club.
“Sometimes in football, stuff that comes out in the media…. I never said I wanted to leave the Club, Romero commented.
“Nothing came from me in that effect. It is important what the manager and President say. I am very happy here, it is like a family.
“I like the manager. I like the way we work, the way we train.
“Always things can improve but I think everyone here at all levels are taking the right steps to improve. I am very happy here.”
Romero has been at Spurs for four seasons since joining, initially on loan, from Serie A side Atalanta.
Romero will be a key player in Spurs success
Spurs have only conceded one Premier League goal this season, and Frank persuading Romero to sign a new contract was a boost to the manager.
Even under Ange Postecoglou, Romero and van de Ven’s presence in the back four massively boosted their chances of success.

Frank will look to keep the pair fit as the Dane has strengthened going forward with the likes of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus having joined the club.
Ahead of Tottenham’s clash against Villarreal in the Champions League, Romero’s presence will be key to their chances of going deep into the competition.
The extra matches will test Spurs’ squad depth and Frank’s ability to manage his squad having not previously coached in the Champions League.
